Team building

I was reading HL's blog today, and felt I could add my two cents.

Team building is hard. At least when your a technical person, as I was. And, prided yourself on getting things done, and here's the kicker, without other's help. Boy, that's a great combination of personality traits for team building!

I don't know where I read it, but someone once wrote that part of team building requires letting go. Trying to hold on is like trying to hold sand in a clenched fist. You'll be partly succcessful, but you'll lose much and after a while your hand gets tired.

Fortunately, we've had the good fortune of recognizing we needed to change and then did something about it. And as a result, I get to go on vacation (can you tell I'm preoccupied with my vacation?).
